Renee Fletcher, RN, MSN – Operations Manager
I have been a member of SCRI since June 2011 and have enjoyed working with a very diverse group of wonderful patients and staff. Although I have worked as an RN on cardiac, transplant, and trauma units in multiple hospitals, my goal has always been to work in clinical research. To reach that goal I have received a Master’s degree in Clinical Research Management. I am proud to work for Dr. B. Singh and with a fantastic group of colleagues here at SCRI, and look forward to making our research department the best in the nation.
Fanny Sparrow, BA, CCRP – Lead Clinical Research Coordinator
My name is Fanny Sparrow originally from Paraguay (South America) from Argentinian-Brazilian ancestors. I went to Hofstra University on Long Island, NY & graduated with a bachelor in International business. Moved to Scottsdale AZ about 9 yrs ago, AZ is definitely home. I entered the Clinical Research field 8 yrs ago. I have held positions in different areas from admissions, recruiting, regulatory and management of clinical studies. I find this field extremely interesting & forever changing. I have been blessed with great mentors & worked with amazing people over the years. I joined SCRI about 8 months ago. I appreciate the opportunity to learn about CKD, interact with the greatest & loyal patients & spend endless hours with some of the most amazing & talented people.

My name is Lisa Helmer and I joined the team at Southwest Clinical Research Institute in 2012. I have worked in Clinical Research since 2000 and Nephrology since 2003. In February 2008 I received my national certification in Clinical Research. My goal is to apply to the Nursing Program and to continue my career path working in Nephrology and Clinical Research.
Edwina Camplin, MAOM, CIM - Sr. Research Coordinator, Regulatory Affairs
Please allow me to introduce myself as the Senior Research Coordinator for Regulatory Affairs at Southwest Clinical Research Institute, LLC since December 2011. I have a Master of Arts degree in organizational management, certification as an IRB Manager (CIM), and recently obtained my certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). I have over twenty-years of healthcare experience, working with private and non-profit acute care hospitals and long-term care organizations in the Chicago area and since 1990 here in Arizona. My areas of expertise includes long-term care membership associations, healthcare regulatory compliance, credentialing, administrative procedure development, program management, meeting planning/events management and logistics, foundation and fundraising activities, volunteer management, training and education, recognition program development, office management and contract management.
Monique Maturan, RN – Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator
I am born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I entered the clinical research field 7 years ago with Southwest Kidney Institute, now Southwest Clinical Reseatch Institute (SCRI). My journey here has allowed me to pursue an education and career as a registered nurse. Currently I work fulltime at a local emergency room and part time with SCRI. In this exciting and every changing field I have held various positions from regulatory coordinator to most currently research RN. I love working in research and being part of a new medications and devices that can potentially help patients live a longer, healthier and better quality life!
Waseem Ahmed, MD – MBBS – Clinical Research Coordinator
My Name is Dr. Waseem S. Ahmed and I’m from Atlanta, GA. I completed medical school in India. I recently finished by externship at Brookdale University Hospital, Brooklyn New York. I enjoy working as a Research Coordinator at SCRI while finishing my application criteria for residency. The work is interesting and the people are friendly.
Robert Buescher, LPN – Clinical Research Coordinator
I have worked as a Dialysis Technician for over 20 years. I decided to go back to school in 2007. So, I went to practical nursing school at ATS Institute in Ohio and became an LPN in 2008. I worked in both dialysis and was a charge nurse in a nursing home for approximately two years after becoming an LPN. I am currently working to become and RN. I am new to research and find it challenging. I look forward to learning more and more new things with research every day and find it very interesting.
Robyn Diamond, HHP – Clinical Research Assistant/Operations Assistant
I am originally from sunny Southern California, I moved to Arizona 8 years ago. I am a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Family Support Partner and a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. I have been with Southwest Clinical Research for over a year. I started out as the Administrative Assistant and have graduated to Clinical Research Assistant and Operations Assistant. I enjoy every aspect of research, from patients, to sponsors to performing the actual studies. I look forward to building a long lasting career in Clinical Research.

Borned and raised in Milwaukee, WI and I moved to AZ about 4 years ago. I graduated from Everest College, San Jose CA with a Medical Assistant degree in 2007. I have been working in the medical field about 8 years in Family Pratice, Pediatrics, and Addiction. I recently started working for SCRI. Clinical research allows me the opportunity to help advance medication in clinical breakthroughs for patients today and in our future.

I am originally from Long Island, NY and have relocated to beautiful Scottsdale, AZ about 10 years ago. I graduated from Mansfield University, Mansfield PA with a BA degree in Mass Communications. I have been working at SCRI since 2010, specializing in Research Recruitment. I enjoy the everyday interaction with our physicians, staff and patients.
